This summer we’re launching our new children’s poetry list — the Children’s Poetry Library. Discover more here at Salt Kids or here: http://www.saltpublishing.com/books/cpl/cpl.php. Like the idea of a new dedicated children’s poetry list? Stay in touch on this website and we’ll pass on lots of news, features and fun — just for you.
The Children’s Poetry Library contains single-author collections by some of Britain’s best-loved children’s poets, alongside poets writing for children for the first time. The books are ‘A format’ pocket books, attractively produced and can be collected over time to form the best introduction to contemporary children’s poetry. Perfect as gifts or for a library, this highly collectable new series will change the landscape of children’s poetry in the UK & Ireland and beyond.

This is great! Maybe it’s just me, but there seems to be a greater appreciation for poetry in the UK. As a poet, but more importantly as a mother, I love to see any effort to encourage children to read and write poetry.
